Saudade is based on a frottage taken from the window bars of the artist’s childhood home. The piece questions the meaning of protection when danger arises from within rather than outside. Reimagined in fragile, transparent glass, the bars, traditionally meant to keep others out, suggest a quiet shift in purpose. This transformation opens space for reflection on safety, memory, and the possibility of release.
